4-H Camp Timpoochee
4750 Timpochee Ln, Niceville, FL
Located on the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, this historic facility serves primarily as a youth education center and a rental venue for organized groups.
Established in 1926 as Florida's first residential 4-H camping facility, Camp Timpoochee is situated in Niceville along the scenic waterfront of the Emerald Coast. The property is characterized by its private shoreline, sunset views over the bay, and a marine science lab equipped with aquariums for environmental education. It operates as a University of Florida/IFAS extension site and is the second oldest 4-H center in the nation.
While the center is widely known for its seasonal youth summer camps and marine education programs, the facilities are also available for group rentals and retreats outside of the summer season. The campus features air-conditioned cabins with bunk beds and shared restrooms, a large dining hall, and multiple outdoor recreation areas including a sunset field and fire pits. It is located just a short distance from the beaches of Destin and Fort Walton Beach.
