ABATE of Colorado
Aurora, CO, CO
Safety-oriented motorcycle rights organization dedicated to preserving rider freedom and promoting fair legislation and rider education in Colorado.
ABATE of Colorado is a 501(c)(3) safety-oriented motorcycle rights organization committed to preserving freedom of the road and uniting motorcyclists through fair legislation, safety, and communication on rider issues. The organization operates one of Colorado's largest rider training programs and conducts a motorist awareness program to improve driver recognition of motorcycles. ABATE works with local districts to organize group rides, community events, and monthly meetings while publishing The Spokesman newsletter covering motorcycle news and advocacy updates.
The organization's legislative advocacy has resulted in successful passage of a Dead-Red bill for motorcyclists in 2019 and a statute redefining motorcycles to separate them from autocycles in 2022. ABATE of Colorado provides a membership network across the state's districts to coordinate local rider advocacy and safety initiatives.
