ABATE of Washington
Tacoma, WA
Nonprofit motorcycle rights organization founded in 1979 with 23 chapters throughout Washington state.
ABATE of Washington became a 501c4 not-for-profit motorcycle rights organization on March 21, 1979. The organization operates as a chapter-based structure with 23 chapters throughout the state, including chapters in Seattle, Bremerton, Vancouver, Tacoma, and many other communities. ABATE is dedicated to the freedom of the road and fights legislation that restricts motorcyclists while promoting fair motorcycle regulations.
ABATE of Washington emphasizes that it does not advocate riding without a helmet when the law is repealed, only that riders have the right to decide. Members engage in legislative advocacy, community support activities, and rider awareness programs, with membership open to anyone supporting freedom of the road, whether they ride motorcycles or not.
