Ackerman Campground

Ackerman Campground is a U.S. Forest Service campground on the shore of Lewiston Lake in Shasta-Trinity National Forest, about eight miles north of Lewiston. It has 51 sites for tents and RVs up to 40 feet, each with a picnic table and fire ring, plus drinking water and flush toilets; reservations run from late May through early September through Recreation.gov, with walk-in access available the rest of the year.
The lake is popular with anglers fishing for kokanee salmon and rainbow, brown, and brook trout, and boaters are limited to 10 mph, making it calmer water than nearby Trinity Lake. The 2-mile North Lakeshore Trail starts near the campground for a stretch-the-legs stop between rides.
