Bicentennial Campground

Conzelman Road, Sausalito, CA

Bicentennial Campground is one of several primitive campgrounds in the Marin Headlands unit of Golden Gate National Recreation Area, near Sausalito. It is the most accessible of the headlands campgrounds, with its access gate on Conzelman Road next to the Battery Spencer overlook parking area, about 100 yards from Battery Wallace. Access is on foot only: campers park at the top of a service road and carry their gear roughly 200 feet downhill to reach the three tent sites, each limited to one tent and up to three people. There is no vehicle or motorcycle access to the sites themselves, and water is available only about a mile away at the Marin Headlands Visitor Center; reservations are required with a three-night annual maximum.
