Bonita Domes

Bonita Domes is a cluster of earthen dome structures near Joshua Tree, built over roughly seven years by Lisa Starr using SuperAdobe earth-building methods pioneered by the late Nader Khalili. The compound centers on a main dome with two sleeping pods, plus a separate studio dome and a communal bath dome, and is booked out as a vacation stay rather than run as a conventional campground. Guests can rent an individual sleeping pod or the entire two-acre property, which includes a fire pit, outdoor kitchen, and pool. It's marketed as a rustic, camp-like desert stay a short drive from Joshua Tree National Park, aimed at travelers looking for something more unusual than a standard campsite or motel room.
