Briceburg Campgrounds

Briceburg is a cluster of three developed BLM campgrounds along the Wild and Scenic Merced River, reached by crossing a suspension bridge just past the Briceburg Visitor Center on Highway 140, about twelve miles northeast of Mariposa. Sites are first-come, first-served year-round at twenty dollars per night, with the unpaved Briceburg Campground Road running downriver to reach them. The visitor center itself is staffed only seasonally, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, but the campgrounds and river access remain usable outside that window. BLM cautions that the suspension bridge is not recommended for trailers over eighteen feet or large RVs, which makes this a better fit for tent and smaller-rig camping than big-rig travel; Yosemite Valley is about an hour away via paved mountain roads.
