Camp Far West Lake
8176 Camp Far West Rd, Wheatland, CA
The North Shore campground on Camp Far West Lake sits on the Wheatland side of the reservoir, across the water from the smaller South Shore campground in Lincoln. It is the busier of the two separately run properties on the lake, with more RV-oriented sites, two boat launch ramps and two on-site mini marts serving campers directly on the shoreline.
Campsites here include tent spots, pull-throughs and full-hookup RV sites with 30-amp service, along with picnic tables and barbecues. Like the rest of the reservoir, the North Shore gives access to swimming, fishing, water skiing and boating on Camp Far West Lake's 29 miles of shoreline, about eight miles east of Wheatland and roughly 45 miles northeast of Sacramento.
