Camp Nocatee

This expansive 640-acre property provides a specialized outdoor environment centered around the 13-acre Langford Lake and the surrounding agricultural lands of Hendry County. Managed by the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida, the site features six distinct campsite units, including the unique Tree Tops area which offers elevated cabins built on stilts. The grounds include an onsite swimming pool, nature trails, and several permanent facilities like the Semler Crafts and Nature Center. The hub of the property is the commons area, which houses Founder's Hall, a large activity and dining center equipped with a commercial kitchen. The camp has recently expanded its recreational offerings to include a two-lane hatchet throwing range and a dedicated archery area. While primarily a scout facility, it serves as a significant local landmark for wildlife observation in the Florida sugarcane region. Nearby points of interest include the city of Clewiston, historically known as the center of sugar production for the United States. The property is located approximately 12 miles from the city center and the Hendry Regional Medical Center.
