Camp Sacramento is a family camp and conference center in the Eldorado National Forest at Twin Bridges, along Highway 50 near Echo Summit, that the City of Sacramento has operated since 1920 on land leased from the U.S. Forest Service. The property has sixty-one rustic cabins, most built in the 1930s, set along the American River, with a dining hall, lodge, camp store, and recreation facilities including a softball diamond, basketball and volleyball courts, and a campfire pit.
Sessions run from mid-May through mid-October and include full week-long stays as well as shorter mini-vacation packages, plus a separate Senior Camp session for adults fifty and older. Registration is handled through an online camp portal with cabins assigned first-come, first-served, making it a mountain getaway open to visiting families and not restricted to city residents.
