Cedar Point Campground and Recreation Area is a U.S. Forest Service facility located in Croatan National Forest near Swansboro and Swansboro Inlet, positioned at the junction of the White Oak River and Bogue Sound. The facility features 36 individual campsites, all equipped with electrical hookups accommodating 20, 30, and 50-amp service. Paved surfaces provide level camping surfaces, with sites able to accommodate vehicles up to 65 feet in length. A modern bathhouse includes flush toilets and four private hot showers. One boat ramp provides access to the salt marsh ecosystem and White Oak River.
The surrounding area is noted for salt marsh ecology and wildlife viewing opportunities. Osprey, herons, egrets, and various woodpecker species inhabit the marshes and adjacent habitats. A fishing pier provides river access for anglers. A boardwalk trail system enables exploration of the salt marsh environment and wildlife observation without watercraft access.
