Chalmers

Chalmers is a bar, restaurant, and music venue on East Cesar Chavez Street built inside a refurbished Shell gas station, opened in July 2024 by the team behind Armadillo Den. The concept draws on West Texas for its decor, food, and drinks, giving the space a rougher, more rustic feel than the typical East Austin patio bar. The venue is built almost entirely around the outdoors, with a large front deck and a sprawling backyard served by multiple order-up bars and rotating food trucks. The kitchen turns out fry-bread tacos, country-fried steak tenders, and burgers, and the bar pours draft cocktails and a frozen Mexican martini alongside a long beer list.
