Chicken strips are the unused bands of tread at the outer edges of a motorcycle tire, left because the rider has not leaned the bike far enough to reach them.
What are chicken strips? Chicken strips are the unused bands of tread at the outer edges of a motorcycle tire, left because the rider has not leaned the bike far enough to reach them. The name is a tease and the measurement is a poor one: tire profile, road type, and what a rider actually rides all change how wide the strips are. A rider with wide strips who covers big distances safely is not doing anything wrong.
