Cold Tire Pressure

What is cold tire pressure? Cold tire pressure is the pressure measured before the bike has been ridden, when the tires are at ambient temperature. It matters because riding heats the tire and raises the reading, so a pressure checked at a gas station after an hour on the highway will read high and bleeding it down leaves you underinflated once it cools. Manufacturer pressures are given as cold figures — check in the morning, in the garage, before you go anywhere.
