Coldwater Campground is a U.S. Forest Service campground in the Inyo National Forest near Mammoth Lakes, sitting in pine forest at about 8,900 feet across two loops with 77 total sites. Each site has pressurized water access nearby, flush toilets, picnic tables, campfire rings and bear-proof food lockers, reflecting the area's regular bear activity.
Coldwater and Mammoth Creeks run alongside the sites, and Lake Mary, one of several lakes in the Mammoth Lakes Basin, is close by, with hiking, fishing and road cycling all available in the immediate area. Sites run $33 a night plus a $10 additional-vehicle fee, and reservations open up to six months out.
