The Columbia began in 1903 as a corner saloon before opening as a restaurant in 1905, making it Florida's oldest eatery. This massive landmark covers a full city block in historic Ybor City, featuring 15 distinct dining rooms decorated with hand-painted tiles and Mediterranean balconies. It remains family-owned by the fifth generation of the Hernandez-Gonzmart family.
Known for its Spanish and Cuban flavors, the menu highlights favorites like the original Cuban sandwich, traditional paella, and the signature 1905 Salad. The restaurant is famous for its vibrant atmosphere, which includes nightly flamenco dance performances and one of the largest Spanish wine collections in the world.
Located in a National Historic District, the restaurant is surrounded by Ybor City’s iconic brick streets and heritage cigar shops. The TECO Line Streetcar stops nearby, providing easy access to the neighborhood's museums and social spots within Tampa's historic Latin Quarter.
