Council Group Campground
CA-38, Angelus Oaks, CA
Council Group Campground is a reservation-only group site in the San Bernardino National Forest's Mountaintop Ranger District, on Highway 38 near Angelus Oaks at about 6,293 feet elevation. It is a single large accessible group site holding up to 50 people and 13 vehicles, with picnic tables, grills, fire rings and accessible vault toilets.
The campground runs mid-March through the end of October and books through Recreation.gov rather than as walk-up or individual sites, making it a spot for organized group camping rather than a solo rider's overnight stop; nearby trails reach Jenks Lake and the Santa Ana River.
