Crystal Springs Campground
Crystal Springs Rd, Markleeville, CA
Crystal Springs Campground is a small U.S. Forest Service campground just off California Highway 88 near Woodfords and Markleeville, California, in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest at about 6,010 feet elevation. Nineteen tent and small-RV sites sit along the West Fork Carson River under Jeffrey and lodgepole pines.
Sites include picnic tables, fire rings, and food storage lockers, with vault toilets, drinking water, and firewood for sale from the campground host; there is no reservation system, so sites are first-come, first-served. The campground is open from late April through September and is a popular base for fishing, OHV trail riding, and mountain biking on the Sierra Nevada's east side.
