Dan Nicholas Park is a 70-site family campground operated by Rowan County Parks in Salisbury. Twelve of the sites are positioned on a scenic 10-acre fishing lake, providing waterfront camping access. Six heated cabins with beds, microwaves, and refrigerators are available for those preferring cabin stays over tent or RV camping. The campground offers affordable rates: $35 per night for sites with power and water, and $25 per night for sites without utilities. Pets are welcome throughout the park on leashes, though they are not permitted on paid attractions.
The larger Dan Nicholas Park facility encompasses family-friendly attractions including an aquarium, barnyard, carousel, gem mine, miniature golf course, nature center, paddle boats, and a splash pad. Lakeside fishing, extensive hiking trails, and paddle boat rentals provide outdoor recreation opportunities. The park operates year-round with a two-night minimum for weekend reservations.
