Dark Day Campground

Dark Day Campground is a Tahoe National Forest campground on a ridge above New Bullards Bar Reservoir near Camptonville, roughly 21 miles north of Nevada City. It has 10 walk-to, tent-only sites, including double and triple sites for larger parties, with potable water, vault toilets, and trash collection. The campground is generally open from mid-April to mid-October and sits on a quieter reservoir compared to nearby Oroville or Folsom, with fishing, boating, and hiking nearby. It is bookable through Recreation.gov, giving a touring rider a scenic backcountry option in the northern Sierra foothills.
