Davidson River Campground is a U.S. Forest Service facility in Pisgah National Forest near Brevard, offering 159 sites across eight loops with access to excellent trout fishing destinations. The campground provides hot showers, flush toilets, and modern restroom facilities in each loop, along with a dump station and potable water throughout. Tent sites range from basic to pull-through RV spaces accommodating vehicles up to 67 feet. The Davidson River runs through the property, offering excellent fly-fishing and trout wading opportunities.
The setting supports diverse outdoor activities including hiking on the Art Loeb Trail and other regional paths, swimming and tubing in the river, and mountain biking on nearby trails. Campendium and other recreational guides consistently highlight the natural beauty and fishing access. The campground recently underwent renovation and expansion work. Note: The facility is currently closed for ongoing renovation work and is anticipated to reopen September 1, 2026.
