Dorabelle Campground

Dorabelle Campground is a Sierra National Forest campground on the west shore of Shaver Lake, California, at about 5,500 feet elevation. The 68-site campground is spread across two loops, ranging from shaded sites under fir, cedar, and pine to more open sites with lake views. Each site has a dirt parking spur, picnic table, and fire ring with grill, and the campground provides drinking water and vault toilets, with vehicles up to 40 feet accommodated. Shaver Lake offers swimming, motorized boating, water skiing, and fishing for kokanee salmon, rainbow and brown trout, smallmouth bass, and catfish, and five trailheads lead out from the campground into the surrounding national forest. The campground sits along Highway 168 in the Sierra National Forest east of Fresno, making it a natural overnight stop for travelers working the mountain roads between the Central Valley and the high Sierra. It operates seasonally from late May through October, with reservations through Recreation.gov.
