Douglas City Campground

Douglas City Campground is a Bureau of Land Management campground along the Wild and Scenic Trinity River near Douglas City, California, about 30 minutes from Redding via Highway 299 and Steiner Flat Road. The campground has 24 sites with picnic tables and fire rings, plus flush toilets and hot showers, though there are no hookups or a dump station. The Trinity River draws anglers, kayakers, and rafters, and the campground serves as a low-cost base for exploring the river corridor and the surrounding Trinity County backcountry on the way toward Weaverville and the Trinity Alps. Travelers working the winding stretch of Highway 299 between Redding and the coast can use it as an inexpensive overnight stop. Sites are offered on a nightly basis at a low per-vehicle rate, with information also available at the nearby Whiskeytown Visitor Center.
