Douglas Ranch Camp is a 115-acre property in the hills above Carmel Valley, California that has operated as a rustic retreat since 1925, when it opened as a summer camp built around horseback riding, swimming, archery, and outdoor living. The oak-studded grounds sit above the Carmel Valley floor and include a pool, tennis courts, and miles of hiking terrain that have drawn generations of California families. Today the property operates under the name The Camp at Carmel Valley, offering safari-style canvas tents on raised platforms, cabins, and bunk rooms that sleep up to about 120 guests, along with glamping stays bookable through Hipcamp for travelers passing through the valley. The site also hosts weddings and retreats, and riders exploring the scenic curves of Carmel Valley Road can find a night's stay among oak trees and open meadow.
