E Fork Campground, Mammoth Lakes, CA
East Fork Campground is a U.S. Forest Service campground in the Inyo National Forest along Rock Creek, near Mammoth Lakes, California, sitting at about 8,900 feet elevation with views of the surrounding peaks. The campground has 133 sites, some shaded under tall trees and others along the creek, with a mix of sites bookable through Recreation.gov and others available first-come, first-served.
Rock Creek draws anglers for its brook, brown, rainbow, and stocked Alpers trout, and the surrounding canyon has trails that wind past high-elevation alpine lakes popular with hikers and mountain bikers. The area is also home to black bear, mule deer, and other Sierra wildlife, making it a high-country basecamp for travelers exploring the Eastern Sierra.
