The campground at 4050 N US Highway 101 in Eureka, California, formerly operated as KOA Eureka, now runs under new ownership as The Retreat at Redwood Shores, on 10 acres along Humboldt Bay. The property offers 71 RV sites in back-in, standard, premium, pull-through, and dry-camping categories with 30/50-amp water and electric service for rigs up to 72 feet, plus three cabins and 10 tent sites. On-site amenities include an outdoor pool, mini golf, a dog park, a general store, laundry, and showers, along with novelty giant chess and checkers. The bayside location puts guests close to Fort Humboldt State Historic Park, the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center, and Old Town Eureka, making it a practical overnight stop for travelers running the Redwood Highway corridor.
