Fallen Leaf Campground
Fallen Leaf Riad, South Lake Tahoe, CA
Fallen Leaf Campground sits on the north shore of Fallen Leaf Lake next to Taylor Creek, less than a mile from the south shore of Lake Tahoe. The Forest Service campground has 206 sites including six yurts, each site with a bear-proof food locker, fire ring, picnic table, and paved parking apron, plus flush toilets and coin-operated showers spread through the grounds.
Open roughly mid-May through mid-October, the campground is a popular jumping-off point for both non-motorized and motorized boating, waterskiing, and windsurfing on Fallen Leaf Lake and nearby Lake Tahoe. The one-mile Moraine Trail leaves right from camp, and the Taylor Creek Visitor Center across Highway 89 runs interpretive programs, making it a solid overnight stop for anyone touring the Tahoe basin.
