Fashoda Campground
998 Wrights Tie Rd, Pollock Pines, CA
Fashoda Campground occupies a peninsula on the eastern shore of Union Valley Reservoir in Eldorado National Forest, near Pollock Pines. It's a small, tent-only, walk-in campground with 30 sites at about 5,100 feet elevation, managed by Royal Elk Park Management under a Forest Service concession, with vault toilets, drinking water, showers, and a picnic area on site.
The campground is normally open from late May to mid-September and is fully reservable through Recreation.gov up to six months ahead. Union Valley Reservoir is a hub for swimming, sailing, boating, and fishing, and the surrounding forest offers hiking and mountain biking, making Fashoda a good base for a lake-focused overnight on the Highway 50 corridor into the Sierra.
