Fork Seals

What are fork seals? Fork seals are the seals at the top of the fork sliders that keep the oil inside the front suspension and dirt out of it. When one fails you see oil down the fork tube, a wet ring at the seal, and often oil finding its way onto the front brake — which is why a leaking fork seal is a fix-before-you-ride problem rather than a cosmetic one. Damage or grit on the exposed fork tube is a common cause.
