Foxtail is a 58 seat cocktail lounge on Burnet Road in Austin's Crestview neighborhood, opened by the team behind the neighboring Tex-Mex restaurant Mama Betty's. The low lit, cozy room leans into craft cocktails rather than a big beer list, with a shareable food menu to go alongside drinks like the Ristretto Martini and the Kitsune, an old fashioned built on Suntory Toki whisky, honey, and bitters. The bar keeps afternoon into night hours starting at 3 p.m. most days, and gets busiest on live music nights, particularly a recurring Thursday jazz set, as well as weekend evenings. For riders heading up Burnet Road through North Central Austin, it's a newer, lower key stop than the bigger bars downtown, with a focus on cocktails made carefully rather than a high volume crowd.
