Glass Creek Campground

Glass Creek Campground sits at about 7,600 feet along Glass Creek Road in the Inyo National Forest, between Mammoth Lakes and the June Lake Loop, with a small bridge splitting the grounds into a north loop and a south loop. The 66 sites are set among pines and are large enough for full-sized trailers and motorhomes, with fire rings, picnic tables, and bear-proof storage boxes at most spots. Vault toilets are spread across both loops. The campground is first-come, first-served on a donation basis, with no potable water on site, so travelers should fill up at the rest area along US-395 a mile or two away. It makes a quiet, forested basecamp for exploring the June Lake Loop and the eastern Sierra corridor, with no reservation system to navigate and straightforward access right off the highway.
