Green Creek Campground

Bridgeport, CA

Green Creek Campground sits at about 7,500 feet elevation roughly 12 miles west of Bridgeport, California, in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, reached via a dirt Forest Service road that runs alongside Green Creek. The primitive campground offers two reservable group sites accommodating 25 and 50 people, shaded by Jeffrey pines among aspens, juniper, and sagebrush, with picnic tables, fire rings, grills, and food storage lockers, but no potable water on site. The Green Creek Trail departs from just outside the campground and climbs to Green Lake and East Lake, alpine lakes known for backcountry trout fishing, and rainbow trout can also be caught directly from the campground's namesake creek. The campground typically operates from late April to early October, with a single site priced at $22 a night and group sites running $75 to $100.
