Headquarters Campground

Headquarters Campground is a Sequoia National Forest campground on the Kern River, about six miles north of Kernville at roughly 2,800 feet elevation, overlooking the Kern Wild and Scenic River. The campground offers 44 individual family sites, including an ADA-accessible site and a yurt rental, along with picnic tables, campfire rings, vault toilets, and drinking water. Some sites sit shaded along the riverbank under oak, juniper, and cottonwood while others are more open. The campground provides access to hiking, fishing, kayaking, and rafting, including the Cannell Meadow National Recreation Trail, and makes a base for day trips into Sequoia National Park and Giant Sequoia National Monument. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov.
