High Desert Protocol

High Desert Protocol is a Hipcamp-listed tent camping property on a private six-acre compound in the high desert near Yucca Valley, Pioneertown, and Joshua Tree National Park, reached by about a mile and a half of dirt road. Guests bring their own tent and sleep under open desert sky, with a shared outdoor kitchen built around a large concrete table for cooking and gathering. The property is an adults-only, 18-and-over site with a communal atmosphere rather than a standard drive-up campground, and it includes access to a shared pool area. It is not open to walk-up visitors; camping is by advance Hipcamp booking only, and the surrounding high desert puts riders within easy reach of Joshua Tree's park roads and the town of Yucca Valley for fuel and supplies.
