Housekeeping Camp

Housekeeping Camp is a National Park Service concession lodging area on the Merced River in Yosemite Valley, operated by Yosemite's official concessionaire and open seasonally from roughly April through October. It offers around 266 three-sided concrete units with canvas roofs and privacy curtains, each with a bunk bed, a double bed, and electrical outlets, along with a campfire ring, grill grate, and bear-proof food locker outside. It is one of the few places in Yosemite Valley where outdoor cooking is permitted, and units come with views toward Yosemite Falls and Half Dome. The camp has shared shower and laundry facilities, a small store, and rental gear for chairs and bedding, and its riverside sites fill quickly once reservations open, making it a popular budget-friendly base for exploring the valley.
