Hurkey Creek
56375 Highway 74, Mountain Center, CA
Hurkey Creek is a 59-acre Riverside County park and campground about four miles southeast of Mountain Center off Highway 74, set in a small valley along the creek with groves of mature pines and views of the San Jacinto Mountains. The park has around 100 developed individual campsites available by reservation or first-come, first-served, plus a group camping area, centrally located showers, and a day-use picnic area.
Lake Hemet, popular for fishing, sits less than a mile away, making Hurkey Creek a convenient basecamp for riders exploring the Highway 74 "Pines to Palms" corridor between the San Jacinto high country and the desert below.
