Indian Valley Campground

15918 State Highway 49, Camptonville, CA

Indian Valley Campground is a Tahoe National Forest campground on the north bank of the North Yuba River along Highway 49, about fifteen miles north of Camptonville, California. The 19-site campground sits at roughly 2,300 feet elevation among oak, fir, pine and madrone trees, with each site equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, vault toilet access and piped water. The North Yuba River here is popular for swimming, wading and rainbow trout fishing, and the surrounding hills carry visible traces of Gold Rush-era dredging. The campground is normally open from mid-April through the end of October, with nightly fees between roughly twenty-four and forty-eight dollars, and reservations are handled through the national recreation booking system.
