Indian Well Campground

Indian Well Campground is the National Park Service campground at Lava Beds National Monument, about a half mile from the visitor center near Tulelake, California, close to the Oregon border. The campground has 43 first-come, first-served sites that can handle tents, pickup campers, small trailers and motorhomes up to 30 feet, each with a picnic table, fire ring and cooking grill. It serves as the base for exploring the monument's extensive network of lava tube caves, and while summer weekends near holidays can fill up, most stretches of the season see plenty of open sites. Summer days run hot with little shade, so spring and fall tend to make for more comfortable camping.
