Industry is a neighborhood restaurant and bar in East Austin serving scratch made Texas comfort food, including smoked meats and handmade tortillas, from a kitchen founded by former Cafe Josie owner Cody Taylor and hospitality consultant Harlan Scott. The space has 30 beer taps, a full bar, and a mix of indoor and outdoor seating built for long hangouts. The bar adds a 20 percent service charge to every check in place of tipping, a model built around paying kitchen and floor staff a consistent living wage. Live music, trivia nights, and a beer garden feel make it a solid stop for a meal and a drink on the east side of downtown Austin.
