Kelly Park, Rock Springs

This historic county park is home to Rock Springs, a natural spring that pumps 26,000 gallons of clear water per minute into a tropical run. Visitors typically use the spring as a natural lazy river, floating down a 3/4-mile loop under a canopy of palms and oaks. The park is a major destination for outdoor enthusiasts in Central Florida, offering a serene environment for swimming, wildlife viewing, and nature photography within a protected ecological corridor. The campground provides 26 individual sites equipped with water and electrical hookups, suitable for both tents and RVs. Beyond the water, the 2.6-mile Kelly Loop Trail offers a scenic route through the uplands to observe native wildlife like gopher tortoises and deer. Because the park reaches capacity very quickly, especially on weekends, early arrival is a necessity for all day-use visitors. Facilities include a full-service concession stand, picnic pavilions with grills, a playground, and sand volleyball courts. While the park itself does not rent inner tubes, several vendors are located just outside the entrance. The park maintains strict rules to preserve the natural habitat, including a total ban on alcohol and pets.
