Kennedy Meadows Resort & Pack Station

HIGHWAY 108, Sonora, CA

Kennedy Meadows Resort & Pack Station is a seasonal mountain outpost on Highway 108's Sonora Pass in Tuolumne County, roughly 58 miles east of Sonora in the Sierra Nevada. Operating for over a century, it offers a general store, restaurant and saloon, rustic cabins, and a horse pack station that runs day rides and multi-day pack trips into the high country toward Kennedy Lake, Relief Reservoir and the Emigrant Wilderness. Because it sits directly on Sonora Pass, one of the highest and most technical paved motorcycle roads in California, Kennedy Meadows is a natural stop for riders crossing the pass, and it also serves as a resupply point for Pacific Crest Trail hikers. The resort operates seasonally, typically opening in late April and closing around Columbus Day in October, so hours and services depend on the time of year.
