Lake Lopez

Lopez Lake Recreation Area sits about 10 miles east of Arroyo Grande in San Luis Obispo County, formed by Lopez Dam on Arroyo Grande Creek, and is run by SLO County Parks with a marina and store operated separately. The recreation area offers more than 350 campsites in primitive, electrical, and full-hookup configurations, plus cabins in the Hawk camping area that sleep up to six people, with hot showers available at several campgrounds around the lake. The marina rents fishing boats, pontoon boats, jet skis, kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards, and its convenience store, arcade, laundromat, and full-menu restaurant with a bar give the property a resort-like feel for a county park. Beyond the water, visitors can hike or ride equestrian and mountain-biking trails around the lake, making it a well-rounded stop for a mix of camping, boating, and trail time on California's Central Coast.
