Lake McClure - Barrett Cove Campground
9090 Lake McClure Rd, Snelling, CA
Barrett Cove Campground sits on the western shore of Lake McClure near Snelling, California, and is the largest of the campgrounds around the lake, with 249 sites for RVs, trailers, and tents, some with full hookups, others with water and electric only, and some with no hookups at all. Nearby facilities include a swim lagoon, a marina with boat rentals, boat launch ramps, and a mountain bike park, all managed as part of the wider Lake McClure and Lake McSwain recreation area.
Visitors come mainly for houseboating, cruising, fishing, and waterskiing on the reservoir, which sits in the Sierra foothills east of Merced. Quiet hours run from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., with check-in after 4 p.m. and check-out before 2 p.m., typical of a large lake-resort campground built to handle heavy summer boating traffic.
