Lake Morena County Park Campground

Lake Morena County Park is a San Diego County-run campground in the Laguna Mountains east of Campo, sitting at 3,000 feet along the Pacific Crest Trail corridor. It's a genuine backcountry stop for riders working Highway 94 and the mountain roads toward the Mexican border, with a stocked trout lake, eight miles of trails, and a quiet, wooded setting far from city traffic. The park runs 80-plus sites ranging from full-hookup RV spots to tent-only and primitive sites, plus wilderness cabins and group areas, with restrooms and showers on site. Reservations run through the San Diego County parks system, and the lake itself is open for fishing and non-contact boating, though swimming isn't permitted.
