Lake Piru Recreational Area Campground

Lake Piru Recreation Area sits in the hills of Ventura County above the small town of Piru, a quiet detour off Highway 126 for riders running between the 5 and the 101 through the Santa Clara River valley. The lake and campground handle RVs, tent campers, and day-use visitors alike, with public restrooms and showers, a swim beach, and a small store on site. Beyond the water, the day-use area adds a playground, horseshoe pits, volleyball nets, and a nine-hole disc golf course, giving riders a reason to stretch out a stop rather than just refuel and roll on. The park keeps regular daily hours and is a manageable side trip from the main coastal and valley routes through the area.
