Lime Kiln Campground

Highway 1 Big Sur, CA 93920, Big Sur, CA

Limekiln State Park Campground is a 29-site campground on Highway 1 in Big Sur, tucked into a 716-acre state park between redwood forest and the rocky Pacific shoreline. Seventeen Redwood Campsites line Limekiln Creek in a grove of coast redwoods, while the Ocean Campsites sit across a footbridge closer to the coast, with sites best suited to tents and small vehicles. The park, established in 1994, has flush toilets, token-operated hot showers, and drinking water, and short trails lead from the campground up Limekiln Canyon to Limekiln Falls and the historic 19th-century lime kilns the park is named for. Sites can be reserved through ReserveCalifornia and cost $35 a night, making it one of the few developed campgrounds along this stretch of coastal Highway 1.
