Lobo Group Campground

Lobo Group Campground sits in the Barton Flats area of the San Bernardino National Forest along Highway 38 near Angelus Oaks, at about 6,400 feet in dense pine forest. It is a single large group site that can hold up to 75 people and roughly 15 vehicles, with picnic tables, a campfire circle, grills, flush toilets, and drinking water, and it books through Recreation.gov. The campground is a short drive from Jenks Lake and the Santa Ana River for fishing, and from trailheads used for hiking and horseback riding in the surrounding mountains. Highway 38 through Barton Flats is a well-known Southern California mountain road, and the campground season normally runs from May through September; riders should check current road and site conditions before a trip, since winter storm damage has closed access in past seasons.
