Lodgepole Overflow Campground
Hwy 4, Bear Valley, CA
Lodgepole Overflow Campground sits along Highway 4 in the Stanislaus National Forest, about two miles west of Lake Alpine near Bear Valley. It offers roughly 30 first-come, first-served sites in a large, open, lightly forested area, each with a fire ring and picnic table, plus vault restrooms and drinking water on site.
Highway 4 over Ebbetts Pass is one of the Sierra's classic seasonal mountain routes, and the campground is close to Lake Alpine for boating and fishing, plus trailheads into the Carson-Iceberg Wilderness. Hot showers and a laundromat are available nearby at Lake Alpine Lodge, and RVs or trailers should take Rock Creek Road rather than the single-lane Mosquito Bridge near the main site.
