Lone Pine Campground

Lone Pine Campground is an Inyo National Forest campground on Whitney Portal Road, about six miles west of the town of Lone Pine and roughly seven miles by road from the Whitney Portal Recreation Area. It offers 42 single sites, a double site, and a walk-in group site accommodating up to 15, with sites long enough for RVs up to 40 feet, and firewood is sold on site. The Whitney Portal National Recreation Trail begins at the west end of the campground and connects to Whitney Portal's picnic area and fishing pond, and the location gives riders easy access to the Alabama Hills and Eastern Sierra scenery along Highway 395. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov.
