Long Pine Key Campground

Situated within a rare pine rockland forest, this seasonal campground provides a natural base for exploring the unique ecosystems of the Everglades. The facility accommodates both tent and RV campers with paved, level sites that include a picnic table and fire ring. It is one of only two frontcountry camping options in the park, managed by the park's concessionaire, Flamingo Adventures. While the sites are for dry camping without hookups, visitors have access to shared amenities including flush toilets, solar-heated showers, and utility sinks. A central dump station and a potable water filling station are available for those with larger setups. The campground is conveniently located near the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center and provides direct access to the Long Pine Key trail network. Local highlights within a short ride include a nearby fishing pond and the historic Nike Missile Site. The area is known for its diverse wildlife, including barred owls and red-shouldered hawks. Because this location operates seasonally from November through April, reservations are highly recommended during the winter peak.
